Issuance of Commemorative Coins In Conjunction with the 70th Anniversary of Radio Televisyen Malaysia

Bank Negara Malaysia is issuing commemorative coins today in conjunction with the 70th Anniversary of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM). RTM is the first broadcaster in Malaysia that launched radio broadcast on 1 April 1946 and television broadcast on 28 December 1963.

The specifications of the commemorative coins are as follows:

1. Coloured Silver Commemorative Coin (proof)

This proof coloured coin is made of Fine Silver with 99.9 purity and weighs 31.10 grams. It has a face value of RM10 and will be sold at RM212 a piece. The mintage quantity is 500 pieces.

2.Nordic Gold Brilliant Uncirculated (B.U) Commemorative Coin

The Nordic Gold (B.U) coin has a face value of RM1 and will be sold at RM10.60 each. The mintage quantity is 10,000 pieces.

These commemorative coins are also available in a Set of 2, consisting of the coloured silver and Nordic gold proof coins. A total of 2,000 sets are available for sale, each priced at RM265.

Note: All prices stated are inclusive of 6% GST

Coin Design

The design descriptive of the commemorative coins is as follows:

1. Obverse Side of the Coin

The centre of the coin shows the iconic image of RTM’s headquarters, Angkasapuri. The building features a unique facade decorated with a motif based on the shape of the tongue. The words RADIO TELEVISYEN MALAYSIA are on the upper circumference and the years 1946 – 2016 denoting 70 years of anniversary are inscribed below the words.

2. Reverse Side of the Coin

The words BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA as the issuing authority of the commemorative coin is featured on the upper circumference of the coin, while the face value of the coin is inscribed on the lower circumference. The event logo for the 70th Anniversary of Radio Televisyen Malaysia is featured on centre of the coin.

The complete design of the commemorative coins is as per Appendix II.

 

Sales Outlets

The coins will be available for sale from 25 April 2016 at Bank Negara Malaysia’s Museum and Art Gallery (MAG), at its regional offices and branch located in Pulau Pinang, Johor Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

收买佬、收藏家、富人、富豪

　       一日多嘴，对拍卖行的朋友说“哪有几个真正的收藏家，都是收买佬而已”。朋友问：“何解？”区别就在一个“藏”与一个“卖”字。一个收而藏之，一个收而卖之。本不非议“收买佬”，生意谋利，天公地道。

　　只不过，现在太多收买佬冒充成收藏家，扮风雅、扮文化，而世界那些著名的拍卖行，其实也只是文物炒买炒卖的大本营。内地的一些新财主，也迫不及待表现“风雅”。

　　一般人也分不清何谓收买佬，何谓收藏家？

　　过去广州的收买佬，挑一对箩筐，穿街过巷，叫曰：“收买烂锅烂铁、旧玻璃烂皮鞋。”平价收购点货，转手赚点小利，是小本生意。本着低价入高价出，着眼于生意与利润。你的所谓名人字画、历代古董，虽然较之“烂铜烂铁”贵重很多，但本质都只是商品，是利润的“载体”，随时准备转手，只看“到不到价”。这与收买佬有何本质的不同？

　　至于“收藏家”，不但是识货，而且是真的倾心，源于欣赏、源于爱惜、源于尊重、源于保护、源于使命。他们把先辈的创造，珍而惜之地保护起来，传承文化的血脉，此为高尚的情操。

　　北京一位已逝的大收藏家，战乱时卖了三间四合院，购进一国宝，后献给国家，他“文革”时穷困蜗居，但十分安慰。收买佬，比比皆是；收藏家，少之又少。

　　这就等于“富人”多，“富豪”少。有钱，只是富人；富且豪爽，才是富豪。你买飞机，你挥金如土，是富人，你对自己，或者小圈子，与社会与众人无关，何来豪？新加坡的陈嘉庚先生，是过往百年真正的富豪，至今为人尊敬。所以勿把“收买佬”当“收藏家”，勿把富人当富豪，别混淆。
