According to auctioneer's price estimation, the coin estimated price is within $500-$750, but it sold at 4.5 times than estimated eventually and hammered at $3,346 (including buyer premium). Based on auctioneer description, the said coin is merely about 2 pieces in record, perhaps it is the main issue lead to the stiff competition among the bidders.
In addition, the total mintage of year type 1920 was about 4,000,000 million according to the mint archive, However, due to the hiking of silver price in 1920 caused the Straits Government decided to recall the newly manufactured coin to the oven again. Only small amount of them was successfully conserved until today.
