Straits Settlements 1920 5 cents (silver) NGC 64

A piece of Straits Settlements, 5 cents, 1920 with secured by NGC in MS64 was sold by Stack's Bowers & Ponterio in 5 April Hong Kong Auction at USD 4,600 (the price does not include buyer premium). The following is the description of auctioneer about the said lot.

KM-31; Tan-SSC21. Silver. VERY RARE. Transitional year for the denomination, the silver 5 Cent coinage was replaced with a copper-nickel issue (KM-36) with nearly all of the earlier mintage presumably melted down. Breathtaking luster with virtually no tone, a super strike, and fantastically sharp portrait. A great rarity and missing from most advanced collections of Straits Settlement coinage. The piece offered here, especially in this incredible state of preservation, is sure to draw intense interest, as it may be years before another example appears at auction in anything close to this condition. NGC MS-64.
Estimate: $7000.00- $10000.00

According to NGC population report, there are 28 pieces are recorded, 19 pieces of them are mint state condition and only single piece in mint state condition under PCGS report.
