A piece of Straits Settlements 1873 1/2 cent which secured by NGC in MS62BN has been sold for USD 2,000 + 18% buyer premium by Heritage Auction in Sept 17, 2015. Insofar, the mintage of this year type was kept unknown, it was relatively scarce to be found from numismatic market especially for a piece in mint state condition. The results was 264% higher than auctioneer estimation which was within USD 450 - USD 550.
Similarly, it was another piece which also secured by NGC in MS64BN has been sold for SGD 5,000 + 20% buyer premium by Mavin Auction in March 25, 2014. The coin also the only finest has been recorded in NGC population report until today.
