GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Dollar, 1935-B. Bombay Mint. George V. PCGS MS-63+

Image with the PCGS TrueView logo is obtained from and is subject to a license agreement with Collectors Universe, Inc. and its divisions PCGS and PSA.

KM-T5; Mars-BTD1; Prid-30. A resoundingly choice piece, this enchanting specimen is the finest graded across either service, and represents one of the true RARITIES within this popular trade dollar series. Out of the nearly 7 million examples struck, nearly all were melted down, leaving just a small handful of pieces known in existence. Given the present coin's immense quality and charming appearance, it should be hotly pursued and contested as it's an opportunity not likely to appear again anytime soon. Compare to a similar specimen emanating from the Mirs Bay Collection (a PCGS MS-61), which realized a hammer of $19,000 in 2019 spring Hong Kong auction (lot 62229). Clearly, the example now before stands above all others, rivaled by none.

Estimate: $25,000 - $30,000.

Malaysia Medal Straits 50 Cents PF 70 Ultra Cameo 1889
