Selective philatelic collection of Straits Settlements in Spink Auction Nov 2015

Recent years, philatelic collection seem cold compared to numismatic collection in Malaysia and Singapore. However, do you know a piece of precious philatelic may not cheaper than a rare numismatic item especially about the philatelic theme of Straits Settlement. However, most of them seem like a piece of hot item among the international collector rather than local. Perhaps, it is time for us to review our collection strategy, it sounds sarcastic if this trend keeps prolonged...

(x) Straits Settlements
1867 (1 Sept.) Surcharged on Stamps of East India Covers
1867 (24 Oct.) entire letter from Penang to Colombo, Ceylon, marked "Via Point de Galle", bearing 12c. on 4a. green tied by blue firm's chop and "147" duplex, showing manuscript "1d" and red crayon "4", "colombo/unpaid" arrival c.d.s. (3.11) with, on reverse, "galle/unpaid" transit c.d.s.; some minor staining around adhesive. A rare franking and one of two covers known to Ceylon, the other is from Singapore.

1867 (1 Sept.) Surcharged on Stamps of East India Covers
1869 (10 Jan.?) envelope ex the "Rikli" correspondence from Singapore to Switzerland, bearing 8c. on 2a. yellow and 32c. on 2a. yellow, both tied by blue firm's chop and "D14" duplex, showing framed and unframed "pd", "pos. an. v. suez/p.f. amb. mars" octagonal d.s. and, on reverse, Basle transit d.s.; some minor creases caused by original contents. Holcombe Certificate (1993).
